Zelensky: Willing to resign for the sake of peace
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday he was willing to give up his position if it meant peace in Ukraine, adding that he could exchange his departure for his country's entry into the NATO military alliance.

Zelensky said Ukraine would hold presidential elections after the lifting of the state of war. In addition, he believes that the frozen Russian assets abroad should be fully owned by Ukraine, and not shared by Ukraine and its partners.
Mr. Zelensky added, "No agreement will be signed that will cost Ukrainians for 10 generations." "Ukraine wants security guarantees, which should be part of a mineral deal with the United States, and Trump will not be president of the United States forever, but Ukraine needs lasting peace," he said.
"I am not signing something that will be paid by 10 generations of Ukrainians," Zelenskiy said. "He (Trump) is not forever, and we need peace for many, many years."
In response to US President Donald Trump's recent repeated claims that "the United States wants to recover the hundreds of billions of dollars invested in Ukraine," Zelensky once again stressed that the United States has only provided about $100 billion in aid to Ukraine, and this money is a "grant", not a debt that Ukraine should "repay."
The president added that the aid given to Ukraine cannot be counted as debts since they are grants and stressed that security guarantees need to be included in the deal. So far no such guarantees have been put in place, he said.
In addition, he said that a major summit will be held in Ukraine on the 24th, with 13 Ukrainian partners visiting Kiev and another 24 partners participating online.
The Ukrainian leader said that more than 30 countries would participate in meetings on Monday, either in person in Kyiv or virtually, as a kind of coalition of support for Ukraine’s war effort.
