The suspect of the shooting at the White House dinner has been charged with attempting to assassinate Trump
In his first appearance in the federal court in Washington, D.C., Allen sat on the defense bench accompanied by bailiff, stating that he would answer all questions truthfully and claiming that he holds a master's degree in computer science, but did not respond to the charges.
Washington, D.C. Federal Prosecutor Janet Pirow said that as the investigation deepens, more charges may be brought against Allen.
Piro said, "There is no doubt that this is an attempted assassination attempt against the US President. The defendant made it clear that his intention was to eliminate as many senior cabinet officials as possible."
Piro added that Alan was said to have carried a semi-automatic pistol, a shotgun and three knives. She said that the authorities believed these guns were purchased in California.
