China's total value of imports and exports increased by 2.7% year-on-year in May
Beijing, June 9 (Xinhua) -- (Reporter Yin Qianyun) Data released by China's General Administration of Customs on the 9th showed that China's total value of goods trade imports and exports in May was 3.81 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), up 2.7% year-on-year. Among them, the export was 2.28 trillion yuan, increasing by 6.3% year-on-year.
In the first five months of this year, the total value of China's imports and exports of goods trade reached 17.94 trillion yuan, increasing by 2.5% year-on-year. Among them, the export was 10.67 trillion yuan, increasing by 7.2% year-on-year. Imports amounted to 7.27 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.8%.
By region, in the first five months, ASEAN was China's largest trading partner. The total trade value between China and ASEAN was 3.02 trillion yuan, increasing by 9.1% year-on-year. The European Union is China's second largest trading partner. The total value of trade between China and the European Union is 2.3 trillion yuan, increasing by 2.9% year-on-year. The United States is China's third largest trading partner. The total value of trade between China and the United States is 1.72 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%.
During the same period, China's combined imports and exports with the countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative reached 9.24 trillion yuan, increasing by 4.2% year-on-year. Among them, the export was 5.34 trillion yuan, increasing by 10.4% year-on-year. Imports reached 3.9 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%.
By product, China's integrated circuit exports reached 526.4 billion yuan in the first five months, increasing by 18.9% year-on-year. Automobile exports reached 351.37 billion yuan, increasing by 6.6% year-on-year.
In terms of imports, China imported 230 million tons of crude oil in the first five months, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year. Imported mechanical and electrical products reached 2.83 trillion yuan, increasing by 6% year-on-year. (End)
