The signing amount in the first five days of the 9th China-Asean Expo reached 8.663 billion yuan
Kunming, June 23 (Xinhua) -- On the 23rd, it was learned from the Foreign Trade Achievements Special Session of the 9th China-South Asia Expo and the Release Conference of Economic and trade achievements of RCEP around the Indian Ocean and Lancang-Mekong countries that up to now, a total of 163 trade contracts have been signed at this South Asia Expo, with a total contract value of 8.663 billion yuan.
The current South China International Fair kicked off on the 19th, attracting over 5,000 domestic and foreign enterprises to participate. At present, the contracted products mainly include agricultural and food products, mineral products, chemicals, mechanical equipment, and clothing, shoes and hats, etc. From the perspective of the signing regions, Southeast Asian countries actually signed 89 contracts, with a total value of 1.179 billion yuan, accounting for 14.3%. The countries and regions with the largest number of signed contracts in sequence are Myanmar, Hong Kong, China and Italy.
Deng Ruijiyu, director of the Foreign Trade Division of the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, introduced that in addition to trade agreements, this year's South Asia Expo has also facilitated over 20 cooperation agreement projects in various fields such as supply chain services, international logistics, overseas warehouse construction, port infrastructure and intelligent services, accelerating Yunnan's transformation from a regional trade node to a global industrial chain hub.
In addition, the South Asia Expo set up a cross-border live-streaming zone for the first time. Million-level live-streaming hosts from the United States, Canada, Armenia, Kenya and other countries showcased and promoted local specialties such as cloud flowers, cloud coffee, cloud tea, handicrafts and ethnic costumes to the world through the live-streaming platform. During the event, the total number of viewers reached 5.7 million, and the average daily inquiry volume exceeded 1,500. Realized cross-border orders worth 1.2 million US dollars.
On the same day, the results release conference of the South Asia Special Session of the 9th China-South Asia Expo was also held. Cun Min, the deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, introduced at the conference that a total of 482 enterprises from the eight South Asian countries and the Chamber of Commerce of the South Asian Union participated in the exhibition in two exhibition halls, setting up 699 standard booths. Among them, Pakistan ranked first in both the number of participating enterprises and booths.
As of June 22nd, the cumulative transaction volume of the South Asia Pavilion reached 4.4814 million yuan, an increase of 1.6658 million yuan compared with the previous session. Among them, Sri Lanka, the theme country of this year's South Asia Expo, has topped the sales chart of the South Asia Pavilion for several consecutive days and has consistently ranked among the top three in terms of on-site sales among overseas participating countries.
